The company was founded on July 7, 2004, and is organized as a limited company. Today, Taxi 1 is a regional taxi provider in Norway with its head office in Bergen.
Taxi 1 has taxis in the following counties: Vestland, Rogaland, Agder, Oslo, Innlandet, Viken, Trøndelag, Troms og Finnmark. You can reach us at tel 05501, via app or web. You can also choose us freely at the taxi stand, even if we are last in line – there is free taxi choice in Norway.

Our history
From one central in Bergen to taxis in nine counties – with its own workshop, its own charging facility, and its own solar cells.
2004
Taxi 1 originates in Bergen
The central office starts with its own license holders, its own switchboard, and a simple promise: service, quality, and reliability. In the first few years, we drive everything from everyday trips to weddings.
2013
More cars, more services
The fleet is growing rapidly, and we are expanding with coach and airport shuttle permits. At the same time, the first hybrid and eco-friendly vehicles are entering the fleet.
2023
Electric and nationwide
New cars brought into the fleet are mainly electric, the app is in place, and Taxi 1 operates in nine counties – from Vestland and Rogaland to Troms and Finnmark.
Sustainability and charging infrastructure
Taxi 1 is a driving force for zero-emission vehicles, and new cars purchased are primarily electric cars. As the first taxi company in Norway, we built a large-scale charging facility for taxis in Bergen – 50 private charging points at 22 kW.
The central office has its own solar panel system, so that part of the electricity for operation, heating, and charging is produced on site. We also have our own mounting workshop for taximeters and alcohol interlocks, approved by Statens vegvesen.

We are close to the local communities we operate in, and are happy to support local sports teams. Our taxis also provide highly visible advertising space – on the roof sign, car side, or inside the cabin, in Bergen and in our other regions.

Our taxis are on the move around the clock in the city's busiest areas. Advertising on the roof light, car side, or in the cabin gives you high visibility to local target groups.
